New Jersey Pick 6 FAQS

Playing Pick 6 is simple. Once you've got your playslip, select six different numbers from 1 to 46, check whether you want to enter the Double Play draw, pay for your ticket, and wait for the next drawing! You can find out more on our How to Play page.
You must be at least 18 years old to play any lotteries in New Jersey.
NJ Pick 6 drawings take place at approximately 10:57 PM ET on Mondays and Thursdays. The Double Play drawings take place immediately afterwards.
You can buy tickets at any time, but if you want one for the next drawing, you'll need to make your purchase before 10:53 PM on the day of the draw. Tickets bought after this cut-off will be valid for the subsequent drawing.
Pick 6 tickets cost $2.00, or $3.00 if you have opted to enter your numbers into the Double Play drawing.
You can - use the Multi Draw section at the top of your playslip to mark how many of the following drawings you want to enter your numbers in. The options range from 2 to 26.
Double Play is a popular optional lottery add-on, that gives your numbers a second shot at winning. Right after the main numbers are drawn, a second set is also drawn. If you match three or more of these numbers, you've won a prize! Check out our Odds and Prizes page for more info.
The XTRA multiplier is included for free on every NJ Pick 6 ticket. When each lottery ticket is printed, it will be assigned a multiplier from X1 (which does nothing) to X10. Any non-jackpot prizes the ticket wins will be multiplied by the value of the XTRA. It applies to the main game, as well as Double Play.
The jackpot starts at a minimum of $2,000,000 - however, if multiple players win the same jackpot, it will be split evenly between them.
New Jersey Pick 6 has no jackpot limit, and doesn't ever roll down. In practice, this means the jackpot will keep growing indefinitely until someone wins it!
The largest New Jersey Pick-6 jackpot ever won was $48.9 million, which was claimed on February 6, 2001. This remains the record for the Pick-6 game since its inception.
The overall odds of winning any prize in Pick-6 are 1 in 44.7. By entering your numbers into the Double Play drawing, your chances are doubled, improving to 1 in 22.35.

If you've won NJ Pick 6, you must make your claim within one year of the date of the winning draw. After this deadline, it is impossible to redeem any winnings.
If you're out of the state, out of the country, or even if you don't want to head to the store for a ticket, you can use lottery courier services to participate in your favorite lotteries online. Lottery couriers allow you to select your numbers online, and they will send an employee to get your ticket - perfect if you're currently in a region where they don't sell them. If your ticket wins a prize, the courier will cash it in and deposit your winnings to the account you set up with them.
